Honors College Withdrawal Request
The Honors College is committed to providing its students with an enriching and challenging academic experience. However, we understand that circumstances may arise where a student may need to withdraw from the program. If you are considering this decision, please review the following information and process to ensure a smooth transition.

Before Submitting a Withdrawal Request
Consultation:
- Meet with your Honors College advisor to discuss your decision and explore any alternatives to withdrawal.
- Consider whether adjustments to your current course load or schedule might better support your academic goals.
Impact Assessment:
- Understand how withdrawal may affect your academic progress, scholarships, financial aid, and other commitments.
- If applicable, consult with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to discuss any potential impact on your funding.
Decision:
- Ensure that withdrawing from the Honors College aligns with your academic and personal goals.
Important Withdrawal Policies
Processing Time
Withdrawals are processed manually at least once per week.
Course Enrollment and Housing
Students currently enrolled in HON-designated courses or living in Honors housing cannot withdraw and have their Honors fee refunded for the semester. Before completing the withdrawal form, ensure you have dropped any Honors courses and moved to non-honors housing.
The Honors fee follows the University Tuition & Fee Payment and Refund Schedule.

Deadlines
All withdrawals submitted after the deadline will take effect for the following semester.
The tuition deadline for each semester is on the Bursar’s Office website.

Mailing Lists
The withdrawal form will not automatically remove you from Honors College mailing lists. To opt-out, please contact us.

Degree Designation
To change your degree designation, ask your major advisor to declare your major as a BA, BS, or BFA.
