A message from the Acting Dean to the Honors Community

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Honors College I want to reiterate our support of our DREAMer and DACA students. Honors is an inclusive Community, both on and off campus. Our Honors Community, like our country, is richer and stronger because of DREAMers.  We hope congress will support the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in a timely manner and end the constant fear of deportation.  As educators, we stand ready, individually and collectively, to support and assist our students.

The U’s Dream Center is also here to support undocumented students and their families by providing specialized mentoring and support, from college access to graduation and beyond. If you have questions or need support, please do not hesitate to contact the center at dream@utah.edu or 801-581-3470. Additionally, the Dream Center provides a current list of scholarships available to DREAMers on its website.

I encourage you to watch this powerful story about current Honors Student and Information Systems major, Francisco Juarez, as he shares his experience as an undocumented American. https://www.facebook.com/RepMarciaLFudge/videos/10155675269595802/
