Uneasy Intersection of Law and Medicine
The Praxis Lab examined the complex relationship between law, medicine, and ethics, exploring the challenges that arise when these domains intersect. Students investigated cases where law dictates medical practices or where medical actions conflict with legal regulations. Additionally, the course delved into ethical dilemmas that may call for a response beyond what is prescribed by either law or medicine.
Through training in legal analysis, medical differential diagnosis, and philosophical inquiry, students gained a deeper understanding of how the legal system and medical practice interact. By the end of the course, participants developed a more comprehensive perspective on how law and medicine function together in real-world scenarios, preparing them to be informed citizens and consumers of both fields.
