Drugs and Us

This Praxis Lab explored the complex role of drugs in society, from pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter remedies to recreational, religious, and performance-enhancing substances. Students examined historical, cultural, and policy-driven factors influencing drug classification and regulation, as well as the ethical and social implications of drug use.

Through interdisciplinary discussions and research, students tackled topics such as addiction, harm reduction, drug pricing in medicine, and the influence of drugs in specific contexts like criminal justice and competitive sports. In the second semester, they developed a project aimed at addressing key issues related to drug use and policy in the local community.
