We’re thrilled to invite you to the Honors Showcase, a celebration of the incredible work being done by our talented Honors students!

On Wednesday, April 16th, the Honors College will be hosting their second annual Student Showcase, where all students are invited and encouraged to explore new topics, ask questions, and find inspiration to fuel their own initiatives.

From Honors Thesis presentations to community projects, the Honors Student Showcase celebrates students’ achievements, experiences, and research from a variety of majors, including but not limited to Film & Media Arts, Psychology, English, Business, and Ethnic Studies.

“We are literally showing off some of the ‘best of Honors’ from the past academic year.” explained Jeff Badger, the coordinator of the event.

Overview:

This year, the showcase will take place at Kahlert Village from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will follow a conference-style format, with an agenda that includes scheduled group sessions at designated times.

The Program Agenda:

  • 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm – Thesis Presentations & How to Start a Thesis
  • 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm – Honors and Nationally Competitive Scholarships
  • 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm –Dean’s Welcome, Research Poster Presentation,  Film viewing
  • 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm – Praxis Lab Presentations
  • 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Biology and Psychology Thesis Presentations & How to Start a Thesis and presentation from the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights

With minimal overlap, the goal is to help effectively recognize these groups of individuals so that attendees will be able to experience a wider range of topics and presentations.

Attendee’s Takeaways:

Aspiring students interested in a diverse range of research, programs, and opportunities available at the U can gain valuable insights from the paths taken by the presenters. This event also serves as a place to network with other students, ask questions, enhance their own critical thinking, and expand academic skills in a variety of fields.

Regardless of whether you are an honors student, all students have the opportunity to seek out resources and support that can help them succeed academically and personally.
