Mitchell Scholarship
Funding for 1-year master’s degree study in any field in Ireland or Northern Ireland
The George J. Mitchell Scholarship is a nationally competitive award for U.S. citizen sponsored by the US-Ireland Alliance. The scholarship is designed to introduce and connect future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to public service. The award provides tuition fees, accommodations, living stipend, and an international travel stipend for one-year postgraduate study in any discipline in Ireland or Northern Ireland.
Eligibility:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the start of the award
- Be at least 18 years of age, but not yet 30 years of age by September 30th of the application year

- Up to 12 per year

University Endorsement Process:
- University endorsement is a competitive process and not guaranteed. Students seeking University of Utah endorsement must submit certain application components by the University’s deadline.
