Academic Advisor: Kelly O’Neill

Kelly is a graduate of the Honors College with an HBFA in Studio Art. Originally from Albuquerque New Mexico, Kelly has made Utah his home and is in love with the state’s wilderness. While not a skier or hiker Kelly is inspired by the harsh landscapes of the west desert and has a keen interest in the social, economic, and cultural wonder that is Great Salt Lake. Land use and interpretation is one of the major themes of his artworks which also investigate archives, appropriation, simulation, and knowledge production. He is still a practicing artist regularly applying to shows and residencies throughout Utah and the South West. Besides art and the desert Kelly also enjoys building Gundams, catching films at The Tower, playing MTG with friends, and rock climbing at The Front.
