Saturday March 9th

Honors College Choice Day. This day is designed for the newly accepted student to learn the most about the Honors College. The event is open, however, to any interested guest. The Honors Choice Day is the BEST way to determine if the Honors College at the UofU is a good fit for you.

You will participate in sessions covering an overview of Honors, Housing, the student perspective and time with faculty and advisors. We’ll host this event at the Alumni House, on campus.

Note: An optional tour of the Honors residential living spaces is open to you. These tours meet in the lobby of the Alumni House where a housing ambassador will lead you to the Marriott Honors Community building. If you registered for this option please be sure to arrive by 12:45pm.

Parking on campus is free on weekends. The best place to park is in the kiosk lot located between the Ray Olpin Student Union and the Alumni House.

Interested high school and transfer students are invited to visit us.  Check out the upcoming visit opportunities  below.

Honors Information Sessions/Tours are good alternatives for students who cannot participate in an Honors Choice Day. Led by exemplary current honors students, the information session/tour is an abbreviated option for accepted students who cannot attend an Honors Choice day and an excellent option for a prospective student. Your tour guides will overview the Honors College and important dates and deadlines. You will also tour one of the living spaces available to Honors students. Tours meet at 4:30pm, in the lobby of the Marriott Honors Community Building and are held on varying Mondays and Fridays.

All tours are held in the Donna Garff Marriott Honors Community and last approximately one hour. Tour check in is located around the fireplace in the MHC lobby (not the front desk).

A note about parking: The Marriott Honors Community is located directly east of the Huntsman basketball center. To locate us on the campus map, type in building code MHC.

Parking on campus, during weekdays, usually requires payment in the kiosk lots. The parking lot between the Huntsman Basketball Arena and the Marriott Honors Community is closed during the construction of the new residential hall building. However, if you park in the 21 lot, no earlier than 4pm, parking is free and does not require a permit.

You can find lot 21 on this map (https://commuterservices.utah.edu/_documents/parking/parking-map/campus%20guide%20map-color%20coded-updated0-11.6.2018.pdf) by cross referencing quadrants D-4.

Should you schedule an Honors Tour, we also recommend scheduling a visit with the University Office of Admissions to see a full University of Utah presentation and receive a campus tour.

University Of Utah Red, White and U Day is a special University-wide date wherein all admitted students are invited to visit and learn more. The Honors College does participate in this day and will hold an information as part of the day’s events. Tours of the Honors residence will be included as an option. RWU Day will be held on April 6th, 2019.

*Note the information shared during this session will be a repeat of that presented during Honors Tours and Honors Choice Days. If you have previously attending an Honors event, you do not need to attend the Honors session.
