Position Description:
Have you thought about giving back to your honors community? Current honors students can support new first-year Honors students as a peer mentor in the “Ideas that Matter” courses. When the Honors College looks for peer mentors, we look for engaged, reliable, and outstanding students who commit to empowering first-year students to become all they can be at the University of Utah. strive to create a sense-of-belonging for their fellow incoming first-year honor students and uplift the environment. You will support first-year honor students in a successful transition to college, help lay a foundation for a vibrant intellectual community, and to continue past the first-year with confidence. Peer mentors earn a scholarship while gaining professional development from the University of Utah’s Honors’ College acclaimed faculty and staff who you will work together with as a team in the classroom for the HONOR 1010 and 1020 first-year seminar course. Current Honors students, who have completed their first-year as an undergraduate, are eligible to apply for the Peer Mentor position. What are you waiting for? It’s your chance to lead!
